Preserving the Past: Bridging Generations at the Ridgeland Historical Park
The Ridgeland Historical Park is located adjacent to the Ridgeland Area Library. There are 12 displays in place featuring, the early settlers, geology of Ridgeland, early businesses, Native American battle, Ridgeland Reds, Olympian Sky Jump, Ridgeland Fair, local schools, and women’s suffrage that includes an outdoor sculpture by Don Link.
The Friends of the Library Board Members of the Ridgeland Area Library recognized that the rich history of Ridgeland was at risk of being forgotten by future generations. With many historical sites either repurposed or no longer standing, they envisioned the Historical Park as a way to preserve our community’s heritage. By sharing these stories, they hope to create a space that captivates visitors of all ages and bridges the generational gap.
